Welcome to the busy bees in Year 2!
This term, our topic is: Meet the Tudors!
The Tudor houses are coming along a treat! Most of the roofs are now on and the beams look great! Photos will be uploaded soon. The children are keen to share their Tudor village with you on 23rd February in the creative classroom from 3:30pm onwards. We have recorded the children performing their group Tudor dances for you to see on the interactive whiteboard too! How exciting!
You should all have a letter about our trip to Bramhall Hall too. Please ensure your childs' consent slip is returned to us by 10th February, in order for your child to come along. It will be an exciting day-with lots of hands on activities for the children to enjoy. If you can come along on the trip to help, please let Mr Baxter or myself know asap.
In Literacy, we are learning about the features of playscripts. Nazrin (Iman's Mum) is coming into school to run a couple of playscript workshops with Year 2. Super scriptwriting coming soon - Mr Baxter and I cannot wait!
Don't forget the Tudor homework is due in on Monday 20th February. We are going to use the Tudor models for our Tudor village exhibition, so make sure the homework is completed! We are sure the homework will be Tudor-riffic!
If you have any resources that link to this topic please bring them into school to share with Year 2. (Remember to label your belongings clearly).
Click on the 'Term plan' link to find out more about our topic this half term.

-Information, exciting news and websites to visit are frequently uploaded/added to our learning page...so keep checking it! (You will find the website links on the Notices page now.)
-If you can help with our swimming sessions on a Monday morning and you are CRB checked please come and sign your name on the swimming rotas which are on our classroom doors. Mr Baxter's class swim: 9:30am-10:30am and Miss Worsley's class swim: 10:45-11:55pm, We will need 2 adults to help and assist the children. (We have CRB forms if you require one.) In order for swimming sessions to go ahead we rely on parents/carers to sign up, so please start checking your diaries now! We will keep reminding you throughout the year! Thank you in advance!
It would be really great if your child can come into schoo and the classroom on their own; now that they are in Year 2. Teampoints are at the ready for those children who can do it!
If you have any questions or concerns, We are always around after school when it is much quieter! So please come in and talk, you are always welcome.
Warm wishes,
Miss Worsley, Mr Baxter, Miss Owen and Mrs Wilson
