AGM
The After School Club AGM was held in The Cock pub on Monday 10th October.  It was well attended by the current committee and parents.  The After School Club is a 'not for profit' organisation run by parent volunteers, without whom the Club could not operate - all help is much appreciated!  The next ASC committee meeting is on 9th January. Anyone interested in getting involved/contributing should speak to Suzanna at the Club.
New Funding
The ASC were awarded £1,000 from the Derbyshire Community Foundation.  £500 was spent on purchasing a Wii console, with 4 controllers, together with a great selection of games including Mario Cart.  This is now available for use by all at the Club.  The remaining money has been spent on specialist workshops to be run in the Holiday Club, using staff from the New Mill Arts Foundtation.
Whaley Bridge After School Club

We aim to provide a safe, healthy, stimulating environment which is relaxing for all our children. We give priority to children from Whaley Bridge Primary School but welcome children from other primary schools locally, if numbers permit.

Our OFSTED registration number is EY224439.  The Club was inspected by OFSTED in March 2010 and received an overall 'good' rating, with some 'outstanding' features - please ask if you would like a copy of the full report.

We offer a vriety of activities each night including arts & crafts, pool & snooker, construction toys, computer & board games, sports, music sessions, cookery or if they wish, a quiet corner where they may read or finish their homework.

The club promotes a secure and fun environment for all ages and abilities and enables working parents, students or parents with hobbies and other commitments the reassurance of quality childcare.

Within the club there is a trained team of qualified individuals (NNEB, BTEC, HND's and first aid certificates) and we operate fully withing OFSTED's national standards and conform to the Childrens Act 1989. We are members of the Kids Club Network and OFSTED inspected.

Cildren using the club for the first time will be collected from their classrooms and escorted to the club. In addition, any child who is under 8 will continue to be escorted by a member of staff.
